2nd Medical Conference on Plant-Based Nutrition: “Nutrition, Inflammation and Carcinogenesis”

30-06-2025
Following the success of the first symposium, the non-profit organization A Promise to Animals (APA), in collaboration with the Hellenic Cancer Society and under the Auspices of the Medical School of the University of Athens, organized the 2nd Medical Conference on Plant-Based Nutrition, themed “Nutrition, Inflammation and Carcinogenesis.”
The conference took place at the Amphitheatre of the National Gallery on March 8–9, 2025, with the participation of distinguished scientists from Greece and abroad.

The event aimed to provide the medical community and health professionals with evidence-based scientific updates on the link between nutrition, inflammation, and carcinogenesis, and the role of plant-based nutrition in reducing the risk of chronic diseases—contributing to the development of dietary guidelines based on solid research.

The conference was held over the course of two days.

The first day was exclusively medical, focusing on specialized content, including scientific evidence and clinical studies presented by leading experts in health and medicine. Prominent researchers from Greece and internationally shared knowledge and experience, enhancing understanding of how nutrition can function as a therapeutic tool.

The second day was open to the general public, aiming to disseminate accessible scientific knowledge from doctors and nutritionists. The program also featured personal testimonies from individuals who have adopted a plant-based diet in their daily lives, offering a multifaceted perspective on its impact.
